A man couldn't be, by another defined
Bequeathed, bestowed, or summarily designed
By parents, or lovers, society or drill
Strength of character alone, scales that hill
Belong he may, though never in the sense
Of need, or despair, nor want of defense
But to give of himself, to the utmost end
Advancing the interest of family, love, and friend
Reassurance rarely visits, seldom is it sought
A man forges his own way, casts his own lot
Be he a biker, or banker, a poet or a prick
As you rush to judgement, quietly he'll sit
He'll listen with a smirk whilst you postulate
The terms and conditions, you set to seal his fate
Just know, though you'll try, hard as you can
One can never say, just exactly
What constitutes, the measure of a man.....
